Additional Marriage License Facts:
Your Bahamas Wedding License is a legal and binding marriage license which will be legal in your country of residence (you may have to register your marriage license with your country - confirm with your country's clerks office after you receive your certified copy of your Bahamas Marriage License).
Once you reserve your package with us, we will assist you with all aspects of your Bahamas Marriage License.
The Registrar's Office in Nassau is open Monday - Friday from 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (Legal Holidays are observed and the office will be closed for those Holidays.
Remember, when arriving by plane, you will need to "reside" in the Bahamas for at least 24 hours before you can legally be married, so keep this in mind when making your airline reservations (leave enough time for the residency requirement, make sure the registrar's office will be open to obtain your Bahamas marriage license so you can legally get married while in the Bahamas.
When arriving by cruise ship, all of the Bahamas marriage license information will be obtained from you before you arrive. You will finalize your marriage license with your signatures after your ceremony (right on the beach where your ceremony will take place).
You will receive your certified, recorded marriage license documents within 45 days from the ceremony date. They will be mailed to the address you provided on your Bahamas marriage license application.
Your Bahamas Marriage License:
You must obtain a Bahamas Marriage License to be legally married in the Bahamas (a marriage license is not necessary if you are renewing your marriage vows).
Your Bahamas marriage license can be obtained at the Registrar's Office in Nassau, Bahamas. The following are the requirements to obtain your marriage license:
--You must be in the Bahamas 24 hours before your wedding ceremony. Note: If you are arriving here by cruise ship, once you are in Bahamian waters, this starts your 24 hours.
--When arriving by CRUISE SHIP: Most of the paperwork will be requested by us before you arrive. We will have you scan and email us the required documents, so most of the work will be done before you arrive.
--If either party is divorced, you will need the CERTIFIED, ORIGINAL DIVORCE DECREE PAGE.
If the correct documents are not brought with you to the Bahamas (as instructed and explained by us), the official ceremony will NOT take place and no refunds or credits will be issued.
--If either party is not an United States Citizen, and has never been married, proper documentation will be needed (a sworn affidavit with a notary at the registar's office).

--No blood tests are necessary for your Bahamas marriage license.
--If you are not a United States or Bahamian citizen, the couple must also bring their immigration paperwork -- you will receive this at the Registrar's Office.
